82' diesel and 89 syncro donor -

05/09/21

I'm pulling apart a 1989 non locking syncro donor van. I'm hoping somebody can point me towards a proper diagram of the locker harness.. I have no idea what each connector is supposed to go to.. also at the fuse panel, there is only one wire actually connected to the panel from that harness, a purple one. Any help is appreciated.

Insyncro Vanagon Restoration: The ones with the boots are front locker indicator switch, decoupler, rear locker. Browns are grounds. Harness under dash justs need power and ground. Hazard switch usually feeds it USDM. The ground attaches to a post in front of the shifter behind the lower panel valance.

Wc Cardwell: Sweet your ahead of me now how did the steering rack mount removal go ?

Gary Lander: Wc Cardwell alot of spot welds to drill thru, and a couple welded seams. Not too hard tho.

Gary Lander: I literally cut the framerails, and cut thru the floor and removed the whole cab. Then I cut the framerails again so the whole crossmember would come out, and I drilled out the spot welds on my bench

Wc Cardwell: Gary Lander Sweet !!!

Michael Ghia: The cross member in the centre sits in the centre of the van. The gear linkage rod passes through it
